New River Electrical is seeking a dedicated Building & Grounds Assistant to support our campus facilities maintenance. This role involves performing janitorial duties, general maintenance, light repairs, and landscaping tasks. The ideal candidate will assist in managing vendors, purchasing supplies, and work closely with the Building Maintenance Supervisor to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. We're looking for a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and can contribute to the overall functionality and appearance of our facilities. If you're passionate about maintaining a well-kept workspace and have a proactive approach to facility care, we encourage you to apply.Duties/ResponsibilitiesMaintain the building and grounds by performing janitorial and maintenance duties (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, light carpentry and painting)Perform routine maintenance building and grounds as scheduledPerform light HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.Drywall repair and paintRecord keeping of tasks and preventive maintenanceUpkeep of landscaping and snow removalOrder supplies related to buildingCoordinate with contractors working on propertyAssemble and move office furniture and other office materialsAssist in coordinating with vendors/subcontractors as necessary QUALIFICATIONSAt least 18 years of age.Must have earned a high school diploma or GED equivalent.General maintenance skills, mechanically inclinedAbility to prioritize tasks and keep recordsExcellent time management and prioritization skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and work independentlyFlexibility to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checkAcceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)TRAVELTravel is not anticipated with this role.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
