Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Produce Department Supervisor to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for assisting with the scheduling and supervision of team members, as well as ensuring the day-to-day flow of the department runs smoothly.Key Responsibilities

• Supervision and Team Management: Supervise and delegate tasks to produce team members, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Training and Development: Work with the produce trainer to train team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
• Department Maintenance: Maintain all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated, ensuring that our customers have access to a wide variety of fresh produce.
• Opening and Closing Procedures: Assist in opening and closing the department according to established procedures, ensuring that all tasks are completed before and after hours.
• Customer Service: Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
• Performance Evaluations: Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations to team members, ensuring that they are aware of their strengths and areas for improvement.Requirements
  • Experience: 12+ months of retail experience.
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of produce team procedures and policies, strong organizational and time management skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday, and work in a wet and cold environment.
