Grinding Specialist

Freeport, PA

$14-18 per hour

Direct-Hire Position

Adecco direct hire group currently has an opening for an experienced Grinding Specialist for a large CNC and Metal fabrication shop located in Freeport, PA. This position will require experience working with Jig Grinders, Thompson Grinders and other manual and CNC grinding equipment. Preferred applicants will have prior experience using grinding equipment in a machine shop or metal fabrication setting.

This position will allow you to use and expand your knowledge of metal fabrication, grinding and machining by using state-of-the-art equipment in a clean and temperature controlled environment.

Responsibilities of the Grinding Specialist will include:

*Operation of various grinding equipment both manual and CNC

*Measuring using micrometers, calipers, comparators and various gauges

*Reading customer blueprints and specs. Ensuring parts meet specifications

*Coordinating with quality control department regarding parts variances

*Completion of proper paperwork as necessary

*Maintain a clean work space

Qualifications:

*2 years minimum Grinding experience in a machine shop or metal fabrication shop

*Ability to grind to tolerances of +/- .005 and smaller

*Able to accurately read customer blueprints and schematics

*Willingness to learn new equipment and work in different departments as needed

*HS Diploma or equivalent (Apprenticeship or Journeyman?s certification preferred)

*Able to stand for the majority of the shift, walk bend and stoop as necessary

This position will work a standard 50 hour work week (10 hour days M-F). There are multiple shifts available and shift preference will be considered. Some Saturday work will exist. Drug and background screens are required prior to starting. Pay is based on experience.
