We pair new hires with a mentor to guide them through their introductory period. This is a--full-time, hourly position, working 4 ten hour shifts per week.The Oncology Technician Caregiver assists the Oncologist in delivering precise and efficient patient care. He/she ensures smooth patient flow and conducts various procedures, including radiographs, lab work, and chemotherapy administration. This role is expected to have significant and compassionate client communication: in-person, phone calls and electronically.-- This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills. The technician is also responsible for thorough and accurate medical documentation in the hospital's PIMS and Whiteboard systems.--About You:--Thrive on an ever-changing environment, an--experienced Veterinary Technician, strong communication skills seeking a cohesive, hard-working team, committed to quality patient care, and efficient, 5-star client service. Experience state of the art equipment and groundbreaking surgeries and procedures.Key Areas of Responsibility:Facilitate the doctors schedule to align with patient care needs.Timely, thorough and accurate patient care client interactions including collecting history for appointments and medication management and refills.Ensuring a smooth and excellent client experience through communication, schedule management, and answering questions/concerns.Perform lab work, radiographs, and sample submission.Perform general anesthesia and sedation monitoring for proceduresAppropriately handle chemotherapy medications per hospital standardsProficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture skillsAdminister chemotherapy treatments as directed by OncologistMaintains hospital cleanliness by performing general cleaning duties: Laundry, sweeping, mopping, etc.Other duties as neededSkill Requirements: Strong ability to multitask and anticipate needs. Excellent communication both written and verbal. Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting. --Venipuncture skills with a high level of accuracy.Attention to detail.Strong communication skills with both clients and team members.--Minimum Qualifications:--High School diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of Veterinary Technician experience required. Preferred Qualifications:--Pennsylvania Certified Veterinary Technician certification is preferred but not required.At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Specialty Hospital. Experience running anesthesia.Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and requires frequent bending.
